The first single off their debut album, “It’s So Easy” goes unnoticed in comparison to “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine” when it comes to rock radio play, and it’s a damn shame. The bass intro starts the track off with a bang, and the rest of the song stays upbeat for its majority. When it slows down, it’s over quickly and allows for buildups in the tempo. Add in a good solo by Slash, and it makes for a solid track all around.
I’d like to highlight Axl Rose’s vocals here as well. He is in fact the lead contributor to all vocals on the song, which I only am making a big deal out of because when I first heard songs like “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” and others where he switches from low parts to high parts, I swore there were multiple singers in the band. The guy might be a dick, but you have to give Rose props for his vocal range.
I am always looking for requests for the Throwback Thursday years to draw from. Don’t hesitate to contribute!
